clearing my throat
I ask for your attention
I have something important
on my mind
I can't get it off
and onto my tongue
if the thought could only spring from my diving-board mind
into the vastness of my tongue
I could explain and expound
but I think someone blew the whistle
and
ahem
the thought won't dive
